VideoLAN Client is an excellent cross-platform media player. One of it's greatest features is that it comes packaged with nearly every codec one needs to play the most popular, and some of the most obscure video and audio formats. In this regard it is similar to MPlayer

How do I manually change the size of the video window?

Click in the bottom right region of the actual video playing window, and drag.

Tips and Tricks

  • VideoLAN Client can be used to play back DVDs that aren't in your region, without lowering the region set count of Apple's DVD Player.
  • If you are having problems with VLC on Tiger, try one of their nightly builds.
