Unix/X11
- Apple's X11 Server. Other X11 servers can be installed via the package managers below.
- Fink is a port of the package system developed for Debian Linux (apt-get, dpkg, etc).
- DarwinPorts is a package system developed for Darwin, on which Mac OS X is based. Can be compared to fink or FreeBSD's Ports system.
- OSXGNU is a project which builds GNU software to use the Apple Installer.
- pkgsrc is the package system developed for NetBSD. Ported to OS X and other unixes.
- portage is the package system developed for Gentoo Linux. Ported to OS X and other unixes.
