Last of the G3 PowerBooks, the Pismo represented a foreshadowing of the future of the G4 PowerBooks. Retaining the slimness of the Lombard, it omitted the SCSI in favor of the new FireWire standard, supporting a cross-product Universal Motherboard Architecture (pioneered in the original iBook).

The Pismo is the oldest PowerBook that officially supports 10.4.
