The Lombard was a further refinement on the Wallstreet deign, supporting USB (making it the only PowerBook with both SCSI and USB), a longer battery life, and 100BaseT ethernet, yet still weighing less and measuring 20% slimmer. The most notable sacrifice was the inclusion of only a single PCMCIA slot. The Lombard is the oldest PowerBook that officially supports MacOS 10.3.
