The New Age floppy controller was introduced in the Quadra/Centris 660AV and the Quadra 840AV.

  • The New Age floppy controller could read data at a speed of 1.2 Mbit/s.
  • The New Age floppy controller was slower at reading 800K disks than the older controllers, but it didn't use as much CPU power.
  • The New Age floppy controller had problems reading some badly formatted floppy disks.
