My Mac is "Optimizing" my disk, is this the same as defragging?
No, Optimizing is another name for prebinding, which can be summarized as the System keeping track of where all the libraries and programs are.

I leaned on my keyboard and now my display is inverse/negative/black & white help!
Goto System Preferences -> Universal Access -> Switch to Black on White. Or, use the hotkey, Cmd-Control-Option-8.

Is there a way to have multiple desktops on OS X?
Desktop manager, it's free, and even uses the same transition (cube) as fast user switching.
