Major features

  • Spaces
    • For multiple monitors, one space is the area of all of your monitors, and they congregate on your main monitor only when you press the spaces key
  • Time Machine
  • Quick Look
    • Hides when finder goes into the background
  • Stacks
    • "Springing" option
    • You can't change the icon of Stacks yet, so folders are indistinguishable
    • If you have the dock on the side of the screen instead of the bottom, the spring folders don't look the same; you get the bezel effect instead
  • Updated Finder
    • Your computer (root of finder file system) now has an icon corresponding to your Mac model
      • doesn't seem to work for everyone. Works with G4 Quicksilver though, I guess intel macs just suck

    • Coverflow
    • "Item info" on disks on desktop still never updates
    • Alternating row colors in list view

    • "more" in contextual menu, with "send to bluetooth device", automator, and folder actions
    • Shift + File>Find becomes "find by name"

    • Bluetooth phone setup is a lot better now. Comes with support for at least Sony Ericsson GSM/GPRS/3G settings out of the box. And a much cleaner input for username, password, APN, and CID. Compatibility

Hardware

Works

Buggy

  • ATI Radeon 9600 Pro AGP
    • Graphic artifacts under the mouse cursor
    • Sometimes the cursor disappears, requiring reboot
    • crash on the new Photo Booth/iChat effects
    • ColorSync broken
  • ATI Radeon 7500 Pro PCI
    • Sometimes windows are white

Software

Works

Works, but buggy

  • Wacom tablet driver. Setting the tablet tacking area menu never comes up. Also when I plug in a USB device the tablet will usually stop working
  • Quicksilver. Can't get rid of the dock icon, but everything else works fine.
  • NetNewsWire Lite. Works great, except leaves a 1 unread badge on the dock icon even when everything has been read.

Crash and Burn

  • Money (by Jumsoft)
    • 2007-06-20 I sent them a bug report with the trace and their response is that Money doesn't work in Leopard. Thanks for that.
  • MacFUSE
