In October 2004, Apple released an iPod with a color screen, called the iPod Photo. Via iTunes, you can sync photos into it and view on the screen. It can also read album covers (through iTunes), and show them when a song on that album plays.
The iPod Photo replaced the font used on the black-and-white iPods (the classic Chicago), with Myriad, as used in Apple's promotional material.
On 28 June 2005, the iPod Photo was merged with Apple's iPod line, then at its 4th generation..
Upgrade
On January 23 2005, the iPod Photo was upgraded slightly, a 30 GB was introduced at a $349 price point, and the 60 GB was lowered to $449 (cheaper than the earlier 40 GB at $499)
