iTunes
iTunes is Apple's music library program. Far from being a simple player, it catalogs and stores all of your music and provides an interface for the iTunes Music Store. iTunes supports WAV, AIFF, MIDI, MP3, and AAC audio formats. Additional file format support can be added via QuickTime Components. iTunes is Apple's preferred method for putting music on the iPod
iMovie
iMovie is Apple's consumer-level video editing software. iMovie can import DV footage either from disc or more usually from any DV video camera via Firewire. The latest version also adds support for HD video. iMovie is tightly integrated with iDVD allowing one to edit a movie and burn directly to DVD.
iDVD
iDVD is Apple's consumer-level DVD authoring software. iDVD can create DVDs from iMovie or any Quicktime playable video. You can also create photo slideshows with music. iDVD is tightly integrated with iPhoto, iMovie and iTunes to let you easily accomplish all of this.
iPhoto
iPhoto is Apple's photo library program. It has a number of basic to intermediate editing options and also allows you to request prints of pictures. You can also export pictures to .mac with just a couple of clicks or to basic HTML pages for you to upload to your own site. iPhoto is also Apple's preferred method of transferring photos to the iPod.
GarageBand
GarageBand is Apple's consumer-level audio editing application. It can manipulate and record multiple tracks, and export to a variety of formats. Apple markets GarageBand Sample Packs, which contain various (royalty free (unsure)) loops to use in your own tracks.
