Apple's online services that provide 1gb of iDisk space, an IMAP .Mac mail account that ties into Mail as well as numerous other services and freebies.
iPhoto and iMovie have .Mac integration which allows you to easily publish content to your .Mac homepage from within each application. Apple also provides a backup program called, appropriately enough Backup together with iSync which allows you to synchronise iCal calendars, Address Book contacts and Safari bookmarks between multiple computers. Lastly, with the release of Tiger other applications will easily be able to take advantage of these services, some such as OmniWeb and NetNewsWire already do.
Currently costs $99/year.
In the summer of 2005 Apple decided to upgrade their .Mac service and gave all users 1gb of disk space; users can decide to dedicate a set amount of space to either email or file storage, or just let .Mac manage it for them.
